  1. User requests $WATER retirement.

  2. Waterlab approves or denies the retirement request based on the Water Producers available minted water to be retired.

  3. $Water is transferred to the Waterlab Protocols escrow smart contract for burning.

  4. The Waterlab protocol generates a retirement NFT and transfers that to the user.

  5. The Waterlab protocol updates the Water Producers retirement statistics.
